Orchid and Life Update

It’s been a long time since I wrote a post here. To be honest, I’ve been focusing more on my personal blog and my Instagram accounts. But I wanted to write a little update on a couple of my orchids and give a general update on my life.

First of all, I have one orchid in spike! Just one probably doesn’t sound that exciting, but most of my orchids haven’t bloomed in years. So I am psyched!

Orchid Care: How To Fertilize Orchids

I recently updated my post on how to water orchids, and because fertilizing orchids goes hand in hand with watering, I thought it would be a good time to revisit this topic as well.

Like all living things, orchids need nutrition in order to thrive. Feeding orchids is an important part of caring for them and eventually getting them to rebloom. This post will focus specifically on fertilizing Phalaenopsis (moth) orchids because Phals are the most common orchids for beginners, available everywhere from your local florist to Ikea and Trader Joe’s.

Orchids in Grand Cayman

I’m back from a weeklong vacation in Grand Cayman (and I miss it already)! When my husband and I travel, we always like to see if there’s anything orchid-related that we can visit. In my research on things to do in Grand Cayman, I came across a couple of good candidates so we made it a point to visit both.
