During a panic grocery shopping trip, my husband found a gorgeous Zygopetalum hybrid that needed a good home. So it’s ours now, and I absolutely love it! The blooms are stunning, and they smell incredible.

Brooklyn Orchids is Now Based in DC!

Phew! It’s been awhile since I posted about my move to Washington, DC. Well, I’ve been here for almost a month now! I’ve finally reached the point where I feel settled enough start exploring my new city. So last Friday morning I took my first ride on the DC Circulator over to the National Mall, where I hit up the Hirshhorn Musem. Everyone else is visiting this museum for the Yayoi Kusama Infinity Mirrors exhibit, but I went because it’s hosting an orchid exhibit through May 14!

You’re probably wondering what my announcement is. Well, after 15 years of living in New York City, I’m moving to Washington, DC! My husband’s business is expanding there and at some point over the last six months it became clear that it would make more sense for him to move to DC than for him to commute between the two cities on a frequent basis. There was no real reason for us to keep our apartment in Brooklyn simply for me to stay here…so we’re packing up all of our stuff and ripping the NYC bandaid off.
